The Secretary of State’s office informs our office of electors who have re-registered in other counties. Upon notification, our office cancels these registrations. If a voter re-registers, we are informed directly by other counties.
The voter registration database is updated using undeliverable mail, such as vote-by-mail ballots. If a new address is given, we update our database and send a postcard to the new address in an attempt to contact the voter.
Based on verbal or written communication from a relative, we are unable to revoke or inactivate a voter record of a person who is dead or incompetent to vote. An official death certificate or a judge-signed Order of Conservatorship is required. For the cancelled voter file, a copy of such a record is required.

No one would have predicted 149 deaths in the first three weeks of the year in San Bernardino County due to a single illness a year ago.
Unfortunately, according to infectious disease experts, the number of deaths reported in recent months — and the fatality rate of 0.6 percent listed on the county website — is likely far lower than the true death toll. This is particularly true for the days leading up to Friday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 23, which account for 33 of the deaths, with only one death in the following seven days.
San Bernardino County has seen nearly 200,000 new cases since the winter virus outbreak began on Nov. 1. According to statistics gathered across the world, between 2,000 and 4,000 of those affected will die as a result of their illness. However, the county has only reported 516 deaths since November, implying that hundreds or thousands of deaths have yet to be recorded.

Customers must first complete a Request for Copy application by clicking the link below and noting the application confirmation number (SST#) displayed once the application has been submitted before scheduling an appointment. By mail: The Recorder-County Clerk’s office must receive a completed application signed under penalty of perjury and notarized from an approved person. The processing time is estimated to be 4-6 weeks.
Only births and deaths that occurred in San Bernardino County, as well as marriage licenses bought in San Bernardino County, are recorded in San Bernardino County. About two weeks after the original marriage license is returned and recorded in the Recorder-County Clerk’s office, copies of marriage certificates can be obtained. A verified copy of a confidential marriage record may be given only to the parties to the marriage.
