Learn about the technical and aesthetic elements of digital photography. Learn the fundamentals of digital image capture, editing, composition, and lighting from seasoned professionals with successful careers.

For any financial aid-eligible program that “prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation,” the US Department of Education requires colleges and universities to reveal certain information. Program costs, occupations for which the program prepares students, occupational profiles, on-time completion rate, and, for the most recent award year, the number of students who have completed the program, the number of students who complete the program within the estimated duration, the job placement rate, and the median Title IV and private loan debt incurred by the students are all included. The HCP Learning Center offers a Certificate Program in photographic workflow and creative process. Students learn how to capture, edit, process, and present their images as part of the coursework, as well as how to improve their photography skills, creative processes, and presentation.
Completing a set of 19 courses (15 level classes + 4 electives from our normal educational calendar), passing a written test between levels, and submitting a final portfolio review are all part of the Certificate Program. Students can also specialize their certificate by taking four extra classes in specialized fields (or’Special Topics’) like Alternative Processes, Fine Art, Landscape, Portraiture, and Business Practices. It can be supplemented with electives in the same field of study.
Simply fill out the registration form and send it to our Education Department to enroll in the Certificate Program. Enrollment in the Certificate Program is free. Please contact us as soon as you are ready to take the first written test.

Certified professional photographer (cpp) exam: should you

Students who want to learn how to navigate the different features of their digital camera, understand the effects of lighting, lenses, and shutter speed, and use black and white photography to create depth and emotion should pursue the Digital Photography Certificate. Our program teaches students how to photograph a variety of subjects such as people, nature, and sports, as well as how to enhance digital images using Photoshop Elements.
Students can progress from fundamental to advanced photographic methods with the Professional Photography Certificate. This course, taught by professional freelance photographers, is up-to-date and extensive, covering the most important aspects of starting a career as a professional photographer.
The Professional Photography Certificate covers the same ground as our Digital Photography Certificate, but pushes students to broaden their skill set, which is essential for a freelance photographer.

The Focus on Photography certificate program, offered by the Regenstein School, allows photographers of all levels to experience the wonders of nature, cultivate and sharpen their powers of observation, and master their technical skills. This program is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore and expand your imagination, learn from top photographers, and use the Garden as your studio.
Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in this program. There is a place for you whether you are just starting out in photography or want to further grow your artistic voice. Simply complete your first course and you will be on your way! It is not necessary to have any previous experience.
Fine Art, Nature and Landscape, and an advanced Master track are available in the Focus on Photography program. Students must take five introductory courses before enrolling in the Fine Art or Nature and Landscape tracks. If you’re an intermediate photographer, you can take a skills test to skip the introductory classes. For more information, please contact the program manager. The foundations laid in these courses are built upon in all other courses.
