The naturalization interview and test

Please arrive no later than 4:00 p.m. when applying for your marriage license to allow enough time for the application process. Marriage licenses are not issued through the mail. The marriage license application must be completed IN-PERSON by all members of the couple. There are no exceptions to this rule.
We require identification sufficient to determine that each person applying for the license is eligible to marry in the state of Oregon, as required by ORS 106.050. If a person does not have a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued identification, the County Clerk may request a birth certificate, as well as other appropriate identifying documents, before issuing the license. If the Clerk deems it appropriate, a notarized affidavit attesting to the applicant’s age and identity from someone other than either of the parties seeking the marriage license may be required.
Marriage is forbidden when the applying parties are first cousins or closer of kin to each other, as defined by Oregon Revised Statute 106.020 (2), whether of whole or half blood, by blood or adoption, computed according to civil law laws, except when the parties are first cousins by adoption only.
