The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program is established in accordance with the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR, Title 15, Part 285), and includes the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. Accreditation is awarded after a process that includes the laboratory submitting an application and paying fees, an on-site assessment, resolution of any nonconformities discovered during the on-site assessment, participation in proficiency tests, and technical evaluation. The accreditation is formalized with the issuance of a Certificate of Accreditation and a Scope of Accreditation, and it is publicized through various government and private media announcements.
Commercial laboratories, manufacturers’ in-house laboratories, university laboratories, and federal, state, and local government laboratories may all apply for NVLAP accreditation. Foreign laboratories may be accredited if they meet the same standards as domestic laboratories and pay any extra fees for travel expenses.

The terms “NIST Certificate” and “NIST Certification” generally refer to equipment that has been compared to a NIST standard and found to meet that standard. The calibration can be traced back to a NIST standard in some way.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which is part of the US Department of Commerce, is a non-regulatory federal agency. Their mission is to foster innovation and industrial competitiveness in the United States by conducting research that advances measurement science, standards, and technology. They are based in Boulder, Colorado. The Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML) of NIST is responsible for developing and disseminating national measurement standards.
The Office of Weights and Measures is included in the PML. The Office of Weights and Measures encourages uniformity in weights and measures rules, regulations, and standards in the United States in order to achieve market equity between buyers and sellers.
Standard Reference Materials (SRM) are created and maintained by NIST and can be bought. NIST also offers testing services for manufacturers and test labs to ensure the accuracy of their test materials and equipment (such as previously acquired SRM). NIST also offers a third-party certification service for test laboratories.

The prestigious certification body NEBOSH recognized NIST – Health & Safety Training, Consulting, & Auditing Company for achieving the 698th NEBOSH batch, marking another milestone for the company.
The NIST NEBOSH PSM batch training was a resounding success, with an overall score of 95 percent. Mr. Robert Chettiar, one of NIST’s most seasoned and competent trainers, provided the training.
NIST is proud to have trained this group of students who chose to earn the prestigious NEBOSH IGC certification. It is truly inspiring to see our students achieve such outstanding results throughout the year…
We’d like to express our gratitude for yesterday’s interactive and inspiring session on “Leadership & Commitment.” The presentation was well-structured, and the insights you presented are extremely motivating for our organization’s successful implementation of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.

Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) are certified reference materials (CRMs) that can be used to establish precise methods of analysis, calibrate measurement systems, and measure properties at the state-of-the-art limit.
A wide range of scientific disciplines, including atomic and molecular physics, chemical and crystal structures, fluids, material properties, biotechnology, optical character recognition, and more, are covered by Standard Reference Data. Web applications, personal computer products, site licenses, subscriptions, and distributor agreements are examples of data products. The Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data is part of the SRD data program.
