This course offers six Level 4 modules, including Law, Criminology, and Public Services, allowing you to sample these subject areas while earning 120 credits at Level 4. This will provide you with an introduction to the study of law and allow you to progress to the Law LLB (Hons) Accelerated Route if you complete the program successfully.
The course is offered in both full-time and part-time formats, and it should appeal to students who are unsure about committing to higher education and pursuing a three-year full-time Honours degree in Law.
Furthermore, you will gain a diverse set of skills, including oral and written communication, finding, interpreting, and using primary and secondary sources, referencing, and research. Students can also improve their social skills. These skills will prepare you for further study in a Higher Education setting as well as for jobs due to their transferable nature.
Applicants who do not have formal qualifications but have relevant work experience will be considered for admission to the program after an interview or a diagnostic test that includes the current recommendation process. All applicants must demonstrate a strong command of the English language in both spoken and written form, and if English is not your first language, you must demonstrate the ability to study in English.

What will i learn in a paralegal certificate course?

Units earned toward a certificate cannot be applied toward any other Simon Fraser University certificate or diploma, but they can be applied toward major or minor program requirements, or toward a bachelor’s degree, as long as the program’s rules are followed.

Equality before the law, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression are all examined. Human rights at the international, federal, and provincial levels are investigated.
Contracts, agency, and negotiable instruments; partnership and company law; international commercial law; common law, equity, and statute law 45 units are required as a prerequisite. BUS 393 and BUEC 391 should not be taken at the same time. Students who have already received credit for COMM 393 are not permitted to enroll in this course for credit.
