Florida child care professional certificate
Child development 101: parenting toddlers
A Staff Credential is an official designation that indicates that an individual’s professional education meets or exceeds the Florida Department of Children and Families’ professional standards. By law, every 20 children in a licensed childcare center must have at least one staff-credentialed teacher. The Florida Department of Children and Families’ credential unit requires copies of transcripts or a program certificate to receive a Staff Credential. A Staff Credential Verification (Form CF-FSP 5206) is issued if an individual’s professional education meets the requirements. Visit the Department of Children and Families’ website for more information. Staff Credentialing Programs at Seminole State A Staff Credential can be acquired in one of three ways at Seminole State:

Becoming an early childhood education provider necessitates a high level of education and training. The Florida Department of Children and Families’ Training Coordinating Agency (TCA) for Circuits 9 and 18 is Community Coordinated Care for Children, Inc. (4C) (DCF). To encourage teachers and other educational professionals to continue their education, we provide state-mandated training and competency examinations to child care providers in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Instructor-Led DCF State-Mandated Classes will be offered as virtual-interactive online classes in the coming months, allowing students to communicate with an instructor online and meet the criteria for instructor-led classes.
In Orange, Brevard, Osceola, and Seminole counties, the Department of Children and Families’ Office of Child Care Regulation is providing a new course called Trauma-Informed Care for Child Care Program Directors (TICD).
The Trauma-Informed Care for Child Care Program Directors class will be offered through distance learning at this time. The class will be taught using an interactive medium in which participants will be able to communicate with both the trainer and the other students.
