CMP International Standards are the foundation of the CMP program (CMP-IS). The CMP-IS is divided into nine domains that subject matter experts have described as essential knowledge and skills for meeting professionals. Despite the fact that there are numerous study groups, online courses, books, and manuals available to help people understand these nine domains, we still recommend that they begin by reviewing the CMP International Standards (CMP-IS).
You’ll need 36 months of full-time meetings business experience and 25 clock hours of continuing education. You will only need 24 months of full-time jobs if you have a degree in Event Management or Hospitality. All of your activities must have occurred within the last five years. Also, if you did an internship in the industry, that could count toward your 25 clock hours of continuing education.
You’ll need the following information: A description of the session that demonstrates how the learning goals align with the CMP-IS, as well as evidence that you attended (like a scan of your name badge or a copy of your registration confirmation). You’ll need to combine both of those documents into one document to use in each of the activities you’ve listed.

The Online Certificate in Meeting & Event Management is designed to prepare students for a career in the ever-popular meeting and event industry. This certificate program will educate students about all aspects of event and meeting management, including site selection, pre-event publicity and marketing, audio-visual aids, budgeting, negotiation, and contracts.
The Certificate in Meeting & Event Management is part of the Isenberg Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) program, which was recently ranked #1 in the country for Best Online Bachelor of Science in HTM (thebestschools.org) and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA).
Admissions requirements: Applicants must have completed 24 college credits or two years of prior business experience. The application for an HTM certificate can be found here, and it is approved on a rolling basis.
Financial Aid: You may be eligible for a direct consumer option loan for certificate programs. Private loans do not require school certification, and the money is given to the borrower directly. Please indicate to the lender that you are looking for a “Direct to Consumer loan” or that the loan is for Continuing Education classes when looking for loans. Because certificate programs do not lead to a degree, financial assistance is not available.
