Citizens of the United States who were born in another country can contact the Passport Vital Records Division of the United States Department of State to obtain a U.S. passport or a consular report of birth abroad. To receive a Naturalization or Citizenship certificate, contact the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. International birth certificates that have been delayed are not recognised as evidence of citizenship in the United States.
Birth certificates that have been delayed: When birth records are incomplete or not properly filed with a state’s Vital Records Office within one year of a child’s birth, a delayed birth certificate is issued. If the following requirements are met, delayed birth certificates for children born in the United States can be used as proof of citizenship when applying for a driver’s license or state identification card. Notification of Birth Registry certificates would not be recognized because they are not issued by a Vital Records agency or a local government entity, but rather by the United States Census Bureau. Hospital birth certificates and delayed international birth certificates will not be recognised as proof of citizenship in the United States.

A birth certificate is a government-issued document that dates back to the day the individual was born in its jurisdiction. The government almost certainly prints it on security paper with an official lifted, embossed, impressed, or multicolored seal.
Bear in mind that your birth certificate in Dearborn is an essential source of identification that you’ll need for stuff including finding a job, getting or renewing a passport or driver’s license, applying for benefits, and even signing up for sports events at school or when you’re a child.
Any birth, death, marriage, and divorce should have an official certificate on file in the town where the event occurred. The federal government, on the other hand, does not keep these documents in archives or indexes.
Finally, to ensure that you have a correct record for your request and that it is filled quickly, please follow the steps listed below for the details in which you are interested:

The Clerk’s Office will buy a birth certificate for someone born in the City of Royal Oak. You can pick them up the same day if you come in person, or you can give us a mail-in order. It normally takes two weeks for us to obtain details from William Beaumont Hospital and process the certificates for newborn babies. We have the birth certificates on file here in the office for some time after that. For both mail and in-person requests, photo identification is needed.
Parents must fill out and email our Mail-In Birth Certificate Request Form for mail-in requests (PDF). The child’s full name, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, and a money order made payable to the City of Royal Oak will be needed. They must also provide us with an address to give the birth certificates to. This will take between 7 and 10 days to complete. If you need expedited service, send your request overnight to us along with a return overnight envelop addressed to you, and we will process and mail it to you the same day.
