The Creative Writing Certificate is a non-degree, graduate certificate program consisting of 18 credit hours of specialized courses intended to explore the theoretical and practical problems of today’s creative writers in an intensive workshop environment. Candidates with an undergraduate degree in creative writing or extensive professional or independent experience as creative writers may apply for the Creative Writing Certificate.
At the discretion of the graduate program director, credits obtained toward the Creative Writing Certificate may be applied to or transferred into the Master of Arts in English (MAE). If certificate coursework is applied to the MAE program, it must be no more than six years old when the MAE program is completed.
