Call 617-349-4260 to schedule a wedding appointment. Only the parties to the marriage will be permitted in the office during their appointment due to social distancing requirements. Please note that birth record amendments can only be made in the town or city where the birth occurred, or at the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics, 150 Mt. Vernon Street, Dorchester, MA 02125. (fees may differ).
How to apostille a massachusetts birth certificate
Beginning in 1841, Massachusetts was the first state to implement statewide vital record registration. However, the city of Boston, which had previously kept records, did not begin reporting vital statistics to the state until around 1850. The Massachusetts Archives holds records from 1841 to 1925. A five-year block of data is transferred from the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics to the Archives every five years.
