When applying for a US passport or Social Security benefits, a certified birth certificate copy is needed. Federal, state, and local government departments all recognize it as legitimate proof of citizenship in the United States. A birth certificate may be required when applying for some work, as well as when obtaining or renewing a driver’s license in the future.

How to order birth or death certificates online

Your registration number in the DVS should be seven digits long. The district number should come first, followed by the registration number. The first two digits should be the district number, and the remaining five should be the registration number.
