In November 2013, the Office of the City Clerk Vital Records Division added the following Library locations to the list of places where birth records can be purchased. The certificates sold at these locations will be limited to births in San Antonio that occurred between 2005 and the present.
Please note that printing birth certificates for children born after December 2018 has been difficult. We recommend that you call the Library ahead of time to ensure that your record can be printed.

How do I get a copy of my birth certificate?
Check in at the Circulation Desk of one of the participating branch libraries. At the branch, fill out a birth certificate application form. Return the completed form to the Circulation Desk along with proof of identity (all forms of identification must be original). Staff will call you by name when your certificate is ready (usually within 20 minutes). Return to the Circulation Desk to pay for the birth certificate and pick it up.
